1. How long have you been playing Dreamscape?
 
I joined about a year ago but took a 6 month break from the game to focus on work, I joined back since i finally got some free time and haven't stopped since.
 
2. When you came back what was the first thing that caught your attention when you first log in? Either on forums or in-game.
 
I don't use forums that often I mainly just stay in-game. The community in-game is the main reason I play, I often times have a conversation with someone i've never met before. It really makes my time enjoyable being able to talk to so many different people
 
3. Do you think Dreamscape improved alot while you were away for that 6 month break you took?
 
Yes, they added a lot of new items (BFG9000, Khione's Staff, Eternal Khione's Staff, Etc...) and they really improved the overall experience. The ::dicezone was moved to a more open area, they added new event features (Such as the piñatas), the donation deals were improved. Everything felt fresh, clean and new when I came back after 6 months. With the frequent updates that have been coming out I haven't been bored a single day and always look forward to playing when I get home from work.
 
4.You are part of our platinum partners, how's your experience after achieving this amazing rank in-game?
 
I have no complaints, they make us feel involved in the development of the server. Drax has posted a couple things in the Platinum group on Discord to keep us up to date with new updates coming out. Everyday I login i'm greeted by a staff member asking me how my day went and what i've been up to. They take really good care of us and I can't be more thankful.
 
 
5. What do you enjoy the most about being a Platinum Member?
 
It's a very unique position to be in, as of right now there are only 4 of us. We talk amongst each other often, mainly about the server itself. The staff members look out for us too but don't put us above anyone else, we're just like everyone else to them regardless of any donations we've made. We don't get special privileges, we do however get to know more about the inner workings of the server. I love being a platinum member, I have no regrets about the money I have contributed to the server because I know it helps everyone, not just me.
 
6. Is there anything else you would like to add? Any thoughts you would like to share with all our Dreamscape community?
 
We're all playing to enjoy our free time, just remember everyone else is here doing the same thing. Memories you make here will last with you your whole life. Make them good memories, I know when I'm older I'll think back to all the conversations I've had with complete strangers and the joy I got from them.
 
 

 
1) You've been playing a a decent bit of time, Do you mind telling us what keeps you motivated to play?
 
The community is what keeps me motivated to play. All of the staff are genuine and helpful. The players that I talk to on a regular basis are great people and I'm happy to have met them.
 
2) If you could have any rank for a day, what would it be and why?
If I could be any rank for a day it would be trusted dicer. I enjoy watching players gamble as it satisfies the urge to gamble myself. I would enjoy being able to help out when no other td's are online which seems to be very late/early morning EST (2AM-6AMish.)
 
3) If you could choose out of any item in-game to have, what would it be and why?
If I could choose any item to have in-game it would be a one of a kind custom cape. Get it textured with a space design to match my custom space bfgs coming in the next update.
 
4) If you had to say, what is your favorite piece of content that we have in Dreamscape?
My favorite piece of content in the game is the fashionscape. There are limitless possibilities with the amount of items in this server. One of my favorite things to do anytime I play runescape in general is just talking to the players around me and there is no better way to do it than in fashionscape style.
 
5) Are you missing anything as Platinum Partner? Anything you'd like to see being added?
Regarding Platinum Partner there are very few things missing at the moment. Most of what is missing has already been talked about with staff but some of the things I want to see added include having sponsor/exec rank added to platinum partner that way we are allowed to FP. I personally would also enjoy some sort of trust rank that would allow Platinum Partners to middleman when a TD is unavailable. The platinum monthly boxes have been great so far and I hope they stay as amazing as they have been.
 
Anything else you would like to say or any shout outs you would like to give?
Shout outs to the staff team for working as hard as they do, Bodhi for being a great friend and someone to talk to, Feeds for adopting me and taking on the role as my sugar daddy, and Player Own90 for making me Space BFGs that will be here soon  
 

 
1) You've been playing a a decent bit of time, Do you mind telling us what keeps you motivated to play?
The staff, the customs. The community. It’s beyond crazy how amazing and strong this community is. When I say “dreamscape family” it’s truely a family. I feel like people generally care about us on here. The customs and uniques on here? They blow my mind, especially items like inferno cape, quantum boots how they have that graphic
I also appreciate how chuck tries and takes his time to do an event, and when he does do an event it’s not half-assed. From what I see, most of his events are 2-3 hours and he’s active in discord, talking to us, hanging out with us. It’s like yeah staff here is staff and we need to respect them, but at the same time they also particpate with us/talk shit in the discord and it’s all laughs. That’s what I really LOVE. How staff can be staff, be serious but also have fun and games at the end of the day.
 
2) If you could have any rank for a day, what would it be and why? 
That’s a tough one for me honestly. I was talking to “Cue” about this yesterday. An “Event staff” rank would be SO cool. Somebody who is a helper and answers people’s questions, but also hosts events. Hosts events such as BG, castle wars, maybe a little PKIng? Dice tournaments. I wanna see a push for events. I feel as if we had more events and maybe even more in game mini games, our member count can increase dramatically
I want to do something with the forums though too. I feel as if the forums are dead and I feel like if we can increase activity on the forums, that’ll also add to our player base.
 
3) If you could choose out of any item in-game to have, what would it be and why?
Most definitely my own custom that’s non tradable. I like to be unique, I like to stand out and have things other people can’t have/access. The way some of the customs look in this game just blow me away with how well they were designed. Same thing with armours in this game. Every time I see somebody with centurion, I want to drop my  entire check on Dreamscape. It’s all about that #FashionScape hahaha
 
4)  If you had to say, what is your favorite piece of content that we have in Dreamscape?
 The raids that involve teamwork and actual thought. Like avengers and Threatre if Blood. However, I would like to see the rewards buffed in avengers. Maybe an avengers key like you guys did for BG?
 
Anything else you would like to say or any shout outs you would like to give?
I haven’t suggested that. But yes of course. The staff and community here is amazing I can’t stress that enough. I can’t specifically shout out to one person, because here on Dreamscape I feel as if we are a team and us as a whole is Dreamscape. Everybody on here is awesome and without an awesome staff team, we couldn’t make it possible ! The constant updates, bug patches, events, discord, just everything about this server absolutely impresses me and I can’t thank the people that make that possible Can’t thank them enough **
Raptor has grinded skill Slayer like a maniac! 
He has completed 1000 slayer tasks?! That's so insane and a lot of dedication right there!
Are the gossips true?? Will Raptor go for 2000 slayer tasks completed?? Who knows!
 
We have right here another insane goal which is still in progress!
Will he be first ever killed over 1 million poor penguins?

What keeps me motivated to play is how friendly this community is

Admin, I would love to spawn me in some stuff XD

3) If you could choose out of any item in-game to have, what would it be and why?
I'd probably choose monkey nuts to keep drax in my memories

4)  If you had to say, what is your favorite piece of content that we have in Dreamscape?
My favorite piece of content would have to be Theatre of Blood

1) You've been playing a decent bit of time, Do you mind telling us what keeps you motivated to play?
What keeps me motivated to play is the people. I have been with the server for a long time, and leaving has never been an option. I feel I serve a specific purpose to THIS private server, and this server only. Dreamscape has implanted a personal attachment to me, and I aspire to bring the best to DS as I have in the past years. I believe I serve a duty and have a responsibility to DS.
The biggest impact is the people and other people i meet, and I believe everyone deserves an individual invested and willing to be there for the individuals.
The amount of work, the amount of time spent, it deserves to be noted. And Dreamscape shows hard work pays off, therefore I believe hard work and and motivating towards this server is important. That's why I stay motivated. That's why I stay invested.
 
2) If you could have any rank for a day, what would it be and why? 
I believe either community manager or forum administrator would be it. The biggest role the forums play is giving everyone a voice, and the community is important. I believe the forums, the community, keeps everything solid, as one. so to be in charge of those would be the most favorite of mine.
so to be in charge of the powerhouse of Dreamscape, the forums, is important. I want to be important. I want to be the one to direct everyone to greatness. As a hole server.
 
3) If you could choose out of any item in-game to have, what would it be and why?
Honestly, BFG haha. Its so sick, the concept and everything. Any custom of high power would be my pick, otherwise. They're all so unique.
 
4)  If you had to say, what is your favorite piece of content that we have in Dreamscape?
My favorite piece of content would have to be the originality of everything, the minigames, monsters. It's all unique and intriguing. You can't just go to another server and experience anything like this.
 
Anything else you would like to say or any shout outs you would like to give?
I'd like to thank everyone for all their hard work and dedication to DS over the years. It truly shaped a revolutionary private server.

Ofcourse, thats is because dreamscape is still the server that i like the most, and i enjoy being in the community
always hyped for new updates, which are still one of the most impressive ones i seen through time.

Either some media manager kind of position, to guide potential designers, and such. Or some administrator type of rank, cause i  just know how to make use of the position and its perks, from previous experiences
 
3) If you could choose out of any item in-game to have, what would it be and why?
A giant Spliff with 420 on would be  fitting to my irl me. But honestly if i could really do anything, it might be Marvel's "Galacticus"  armour set with some crazy boosting eye catching moving lightning effects (that might be a bit more than 1item, but take it as 1 attached idea for the item :P)
 
4) If you had to say, what is your favorite piece of content that we have in Dreamscape?
To be honest i always was hyped about the Magegray zone when i started playing dreamscape. To Chill DH is the ultimate location. But as for actual content that may be  the raids, cause they are nicely done

Being Trusted Dicer keeps me motivated to play. Also great community and awesome staff team.
 
2) If you could have any rank for a day, what would it be and why? 
To be honest Trusted dicer - Legacy host rank is all I ever wanted on this server to achieve. I love MM-ing, love helping people atdicezone. I wouldn't wish for any other rank.
 
3) If you could choose out of any item in-game to have, what would it be and why?
It would be a Bowwow's set, (Bowwow's wonton, long schlong, hongkong), because it's unique and it looks just perfect.
 
4) If you had to say, what is your favorite piece of content that we have in Dreamscape?
It's definitely a coin flip gambling game, Because I've never seen so perfectly designed coin flip ever.
 
5) If you could have ANY item in the game, what would it be and why?
Immortal obviously, I mean who even wants to die? ? Because I want to see how the world will evolve in the next 100's of years.

I'd like to say that I'm very happy to be a part od Dreamscape #DSgang. I would like to shout out to all my DS friends and also my TD team, you guys are great! Thanks to all the support you guys have given me!

The community really keeps me going because I’ve made a lot of friends playing dreamscape who I talk to almost everyday on discord. And there’s always things going on within the community and it ends up feeling like a really small family in a way because everyone knows each other and is willing to help if you ask. Which you don’t find a lot on other rsps. Also dreamscape isn’t like every rsps, since it’s a custom and I sometimes feel like I’m playing a different type of game especially when it comes to the custom raids.
 
2) If you could have any rank for a day, what would it be and why? 
If I could have any rank for a day I guess it would be just helper because being a helper would give me the opportunity to help people easier and still be able to play the game. Since helpers are supposed to be there for everyone it’s a really humble rank because you’ll really have to set time aside to help the community which is why if anyone is applying for staff the only reason to should be to help the community and I think the best way to help it is with being a helper.
 
3) If you could choose out of any item in-game to have, what would it be and why?
I’d really like the wolf cup pet because it would be like I have my own dog in game and I like dogs.
 
4) If you had to say, what is your favorite piece of content that we have in Dreamscape?
The Revenants caves because it’s the best money maker in game rn and you get to PK also which is a lot of fun sometimes. Plus everyone seems to know everyone at revs which makes for really good conversation sometimes. Also watching cowman getting 100 kill streaks in entertaining.
 
5) If you could have ANY item in the game, what would it be and why?
I’d rather be super strong and fast because if I immortal all my friends and family would die and I guess that would be really depressing especially having to go through that all the time. And with being super strong and fast you can impressive the ladies with that and that’s all that matters in life.

Range, is my favorite I think because It’s what you start with think about it since the day you sign up you’ve been glockingnpcs and I think it’s because the guns make me feel powerful since I use guns for being a cop thankfully haven’t used it on some1 yet.
 
Avengers or Arcade?
Avengers, Well besides the fact the avengers wiki page took me like 3-4 hours to edit on wiki I just feel like avenger raid is sooo Cool and awesome to be able to fight the avengers plus thanos altho it does need a revamp.
 
Revs or Necromancer?
Revs, Because 
GHOST ARE SPOOKY and revs is basically What makes Dreamscape now PVP/wilderness related.
 
Eternal or regular Khione?
Eternal, Because MORE POWER!!
 
Hns or Flower game?
Flower game,It’s more likely to win in it by guessing a colors unlike hns where you have to think where to hide or seek.

Range because the new bfg and dream range set make it easy for range to keep up with mage and the new models are really nice.

Arcade because the concept is a lot better and with avengers it's impossible to get a good team and the rewards from it arent that nice. Also you can make that much money from it.
 
Revs or Necromancer?
Revs because you can make a lot more money from it, and the pking is a a really cool addition. And also even the low tiers arent worth that much but just being able to see your progress and your name pop up is a really good feeling.
 
Eternal or regular Khione?
Eternal because you don't need orbs and you won't look like you're poor when someone asks you what staff it is & more power as well.
 
Hns or Flower game?
Flower game because it gives you more of a chance and its a community game which is a lot more fun to do than just running around looking for someone.

Will miss you homie, its so sad we havent met, hopefuly we can once your back.

Leaving for good now. Didn't get completely cleaned or anything, just don't have motivation to play anymore. I feel like there is nothing to do beside gambling. Enjoyed playing these 6 months but now it's time to move on. Ill open up my decision on quitting below.
 
All "bosses" are just too easy, drink prayer once every min and grind,grind,grind without any good rewards. Im happy for new bosses coming almost every month, but they are all too easy. Just put soulsplit on and start watching youtube/netflix. After few days you might get one drop.
 
Latest update gave some light to skilling, but i still think it's useless in Dreamscape. You can make absolutely zero cash with skilling. For example there is no need for fishing or any other foods, because only thing you need in pvming is prayer ( Thieving is only useful skill and that's only for starters). All you get for achieving 99 is 10m (!?) cash. Make harder gamemodes and skilling somehow more rewarding.
 
Minigames. What minigames? We have no active minigames. Bg is fun, but it's active only if staff member does event there. 
 
Now for my favorite part, Gambling. Dreamscape is definitely number one gambling server. Im not sure if i like the new or old dicezone more. Developers had vision of flowers and dices being on different sides of the gambling area and that clearly failed. Cool idea, but we just don't have enough players for that. You can't divide 15-30 gamblers on two places, it makes dicezone graveyard.
Im sorry to say this, but it was sad moment when @Chuck became Gambling Manager. Since then gambling in this server has gone downhill. When @Lil Bowwow was Gambling manager, dicezone was crowded.
 
No hate towards current staff, but haven't seen too many events recently. I miss time when @Michigan & @Listy420 were on staffteam. They did events frequently and they were LIT.
 
@Chuck Don't know what's your situation irl, but im pretty disappointed how rarely you log ingame. I saw in gambling tournaments that you are a good guy and you should be involved more with this nice DS community. If you are busy as it looks, please make somebody else gambling manager to keep DS #1 Gambling server.
 
@DRAX Always fair guy. Working hard towards the community. Thanks for keeping gambling alive with tournaments.

Great to hear your thoughts on some 'hot topics'
Thought I'd kick off with a couple of my own thoughts of these issues, both as a player and as a staff member.
 
Issue #1
I agree, some may regard some of the items as 'junk' but in fact a number of the weaker items are not left in the donation store as mere relics of time gone by but rather for new players and iron men. I have handled a number of donations for ice katana's and iron men who are very happy with their ice katana purchase and I think its important we provide for those members. If they want to get a head start on the grind in an affordable way, more power to them!

I find it quite hard to swallow some of your accusations in this post and am sure you meant nothing disrespectful about your comments, as you stated, although some of the language is very emotionally accusatory.
- We do not "prey" on the misinformed, we publish extensive information about all items in the game, both donator and non-donator items. We have more resources then perhaps any other RSPS. A jam packed dedicated wiki, ::compare, forums gear guides to name a few that allow players to learn all about the DS items. As well as having one of the most active and dedicated staff team on hand to offer advice and tips to new players both on the game as a whole and on prospective donations. I get lots of pm's everyday asking for advice on donations and believe me when I say, this is given in a way that is designed to best help the player. I can vouch for our staff team doing the same too, both in the help cc which is always fully active and privately through personal message.
 
The cost of these items is I think fair and justified. New players who want a little head start in the very early stages of their career can use them to get a little head start and they are at a reasonable rate for this very reason!

I take great exception to the suggestion that we are merely trying to make our donation store look 'more full'. DS has well over 3,000 custom items now and any one of them could appear in the donation store. Whenever we add new items we always review to see what is there and what needs to be taken out. Our shop could be 10 x bigger if we wanted it to be, haha trust me. I have often looked at the donation store and thought... wow! what a lot of items are missing and this is a testament to the value of the items made by our modeller and developers.
 
Issue #2 
Another hot topic! Drop rates. Drop rates seem to cause some confusion among players. Let me give out some information about our drop rates here on Dreamscape. They are balanced and fair relative to the boss itself! For example, bosses aimed at new players have much lower drop rates as new players will kill them less quickly due to their gear. The end game bosses have higher drop rates as the expectation is that players will have better gear and thereby be able to kill more quickly. The expectation to go to an end game boss with medium level gear and get a drop is a precarious one. Much like you wouldn't try to kill a final boss on any game without being fully prepared and expect to survive the level or get the reward.
 
As for one hit items. They are a main stay to Dreamscape. I can clarify for any donators worried about this issue. We will never follow through with either of the two suggested 'fixes' (and I put those in quotations for good reason). The owner capes and one hit items are game changers, not game breakers. They change the way you do pvm. As a player who grinder out at vet'ion in the early days for that elusive gold chain drop all the way up to a sponsor kicking ass at chaos elemental trying to get that double pet drop. The challenges are different but in no way lessened by one hit items. You still have to grind and it is still a challenge and likewise you are still gratified and rewarded for your dedication, grind and tactics.
 
Another fyi, and I am sure this will come as no shock to many players is that drop rates did not change when we introduced 1 hit items. For example when I lead the development team on the production of the executive cape, we didn't change any drop rates to 'mitigate' the effect, we considered the effect it would have on our community, ran some extensive simulations (some thing we often do but rarely talk about) and discussed the restrictions and permissions of the item so that it would have the right effect for the players and the donator.
 
One simple solution that you did not suggest is the increase of items in the upgrade chest, our own (and very effective) tool for bringing about item stability. I think this is a much more effective way of brining about some of the more sensible problems that you foresee.
 
I'd also like to deal with the comment,"as the economy gets worse and worse". The fact of the matter is that, this is an old man attitude. The game has a lifespan and evolves over time. You can't look at dreamscape the same way as other games, we have our own currency. The second thing to note is, that prices go up relatively. As things become more expensive we make all round buffs to cater for that. Thirdly, the preconceived notions of how much cash is in the eco is a fallacy, I have seen the exact figures and the numbers are a lot less then most players assume. Finally, since the introduction of the well of good fortune as well as our crack down on rule breaking botters, the economy is not getting worse and worse, but rather on the contrary.... Truly though, there is no better or worse, its a living economy, but there is stability and we are reaching that goal now, more then ever. It may be hard to see without the data, but I have seen the data and I can say I am proud of the solutions the staff team has found to alleviate some of the issues players were having with the economy and allow for long term server stability. 
 
Your post was very thought provoking and at points hard to read. While I have strong thoughts about a lot of the issues you raised, I completely accept your opinion and am glad you raised them. We should always look in the mirror and reflect at where we at in terms of our long term growth and community satisfaction. The only thing that really pained me in your post was your  use of 'us' and 'them' terminology. I don't see the community this way at all and do not feel there should, is or was an culture of us and them at dreamscape. We work as a team, the whole community works together on everything. From forum suggestions making it into game, the use of ::polls, the roles and responsibilities of our two community managers, our feedback sections on the forums and our use of a support system that gives out an average of 50 responses to players a day. We are more community focused then any other RSPS and always act with the communities interests at heart.
 
We joke about being part of the DSGang. But it isn't a joke. We belong to something that is bigger then we all are, an extensive community of people from different places and different backgrounds united under one RSPS... here to kick ass and take names in the most custom, badass and interactive way.
 
There is no us and them... there is only DSGang.
