This is an informative guide on the mechanics of Telos, and how to fight him.

For starters, in order to kill Telos you will need to have Prestige 1 Slayer, or have an active Membership.

Recommended Gear

It is ideal to at the very least have a Late Game setup from the Gear Progression page or better.

Starting the fight

When you are ready to try out Telos, teleport to the arena using the teleport interface.
Once you arrive, you will be on a platform that looks like this:

To begin the fight, choose the "Jump to platform" option on the roots on the teleport platform. You will be prompted with an interface that allows you to choose what level of enrage you wish to fight Telos at. Assuming this is your first time trying to kill Telos, you will be starting at 0% enrage.

Phases

Phase 1 = 100% health - 75% health
Phase 2 = 75% health - 50% health
Phase 3 = 50% heatlh - 25% heatlh
Phase 4 = 25% health - 0% health

General Mechanics

Telos will yell "Gielinor, give me strength!". He will lunge forward to uppercut you. This can be seen in phases 1, 2, & 4 of the fight.

There is no need to try to avoid this mechanic.

Telos will yell "Your anima will return to the source!". He will immobilize you until you deal a set amount of damage to release his grip. This can be seen in phases 1 & 2 of the fight.

Keep attacking Telos until you are no longer immobilized.

Telos will say "Hold still, invader.". Telos will first hit you with his arm to stun you, then will jump in the air and will deal massive damage to you when he lands on top of you. This can be seen in all 4 phases of the fight.

To avoid this attack, run far away from Telos as soon as you see him say the phrase from the line above. If you still die, you either did not get far enough away or you did not react in time.

Telos will yell "Let the anima consume you!". He will hit you with a weak anima bomb that deals damage over time after hitting you. This can be seen in any phase of the fight.

There is no way to avoid the initial damage of this attack, but you can avoid the damage over time. If you are standing under one of the anima fonts during the final phase, you will not be dealt with damage over time from this attack.

Over the course of the fight Telos may have a yellow bar above his head. This is called his anima bar. If you struggle with keeping Telos out of the colored streams in each phase, it will charge up the anima bar and Telos will launch an anima bomb at you once it is full. When this happens, Telos will yell "SO. MUCH. POWER!" before throwing the anima bomb at you. This attack can be seen in all 4 phases of the fight.

There is no way to avoid this attack, but it will not 1 shot you. Just be sure to keep attacking Telos so that you heal through the damage.

Phase Specific Mechanics

During phase 1 you might see a green stream going across the platform. This is what it looks like:

These are 2 things that can happen with this stream:

If you are standing in the stream, it will quickly drain your prayer points by 30 points per game tick(0.6 seconds).

If Telos stands in this stream, it will increase his attack speed to once every 3 game ticks(1.8 seconds) and it will fill up his anima bar.

To avoid this just lure Telos out and away from the stream.

During phase 2 you might see a black stream going across the platform. This is what it looks like:

These are 2 things that can happen with this stream:

If you are standing in the stream, it will cause you to take 20% more damage, and deal 20% less damage.

If Telos stands in the stream, it will heal him for 2% of his health per game tick(0.6 seconds) and will fill up his anima bar.

To avoid this lure Telos away from the stream.

During phase 3 you might see a red stream going across the platform. This is what it looks like:

These are 2 things that can happen with this stream:

If you are standing in the stream, it will cause you to deal 30% less damage.

If Telos stands in the stream, he will deal 30% more damage and it will fill up his anima bar.

Once you have gotten past the first 3 phases and have taken Telos down to 25% health, you will be taken to the final platform. As you load into this platform you will see an anima font with a green orb in the middle of it to the west of you. Be sure to stand under this anima font on one of these tiles:

When Telos reaches 18% health, he will begin to charge up a devastating attack. Do not move out from under this font until you see the text in the chat box that says "You survived the anima bomb!". If you move before receiving this message, you will be killed in 1 hit.

Next, run all the way to the east side of the platform to the anima font with a red orb in the middle. Stand on one of these tiles:

When Telos reaches 12% health, he will charge up a devastating attack again just like before. Keep standing under the red anima font until you receive the message that you survived the bomb.

Now run to the south side of the platform and stand under the anima font with a black orb in the middle like so:

Once Telos reaches 6% health, he will charge up his final devastating attack. Just like before, keep standing under the black anima font until you receive the message that you survived the bomb.

After the final bomb, you can finish off Telos' final 6% of health to finish the fight.

How to Loot

Upon entering phase 4, you will see a large green beam in the middle of the platform for the remainder of the fight. This beam has nothing to do with the fight itself.

After you have finished the fight and Telos has been defeated, right click the green beam in the middle of the platform and choose "Claim reward" from these options:

A loot interface will be opened up that looks like this:

Should you choose to go for higher enrage percentage and potentially a killstreak, you can choose the "Continue Challenge" option within this interface. If you choose this option but die in the next fight, your loot will be lost.

If you choose not to risk your loot, you can choose the "Claim Loot" option. This will send your loot directly to your bank.

After picking one of the options in the loot interface, close out the interface and right click the green beam once again. This time choose the "Exit" option. This will return you back to the starting platform where you can use the roots to fight Telos again!
