This is the Strategy Guide for Alchemical Hydra

Recommended Gear[edit | edit source]

Minimum recommended gear for this boss would be an Early-Mid game setup and above.

Please refer to the Gear Progression guide for equipment. Any attack style will work for the Alchemical Hydra.

Fight Overview[edit | edit source]

To get there, the player must use the Teleport interface. This can be accessed by using ::bosses, or CTRL+X (CMD+X on Mac).

The fight takes place in an instance and must be done solo. Items are not lost upon death, but damage and stat boosts will be lost.

Note: Players cannot leave through the doors after they have entered. Teleporting is the only way to leave.

The Alchemical Hydra has 4 phases, each one beginning upon hitting or going past each 25% health threshold. During these phases, in order to deal full damage, the player should lure the Hydra to the appropriate pool. Outside of pools, damage is capped at 7,500. Inside the pools, damage is capped at 30,000.

This can be increased by using the Alchemical Onyx Ring and/or the Alchemical Onyx Necklace. Each of these boost the damage cap by 5,000. When using these pieces of jewelry together, there is a set bonus that boosts the cap by 15,000.

Phase Specific Mechanics[edit | edit source]

In this phase, the Hydra will be green. Lure it to the red chemical pool to deal full damage.

The Hydra may launch poison blobs. One of these blobs is guaranteed to hit the player. Blobs deal up to 7 damage, and standing in the pool will deal 12 poison damage per tick.

Once the Hydra reaches 75% health and turns blue, run to the green pool to the north.

Once in this phase, the Hydra will turn blue. Lure it to the green pool. During this phase, the Hydra will launch balls of electricity. If hit by this ball, it will bind the player and deal up to 20 damage.

Once the Hydra reaches 50% health, it will turn red. Run west to the blue pool.

Once in this phase, the Hydra will turn red. Lure it to the blue pool. During this phase, the Hydra may shoot a 5x5 layer of fire on each side of the player. Getting hit by the fire will deal up to 20 damage.

It also may send a tracking fire. The player must walk to avoid the damage from this mechanic.

Once the Hydra reaches 25% health, it will turn grey and move to the center of the room.

During this phase, the Hydra will turn grey. There is no need to lure it to a certain pool now, as it will move to the center of the room. This phase is fairly simple compared to OSRS, as the mechanics are easily negated with the custom gear on Redemption.

How to Loot[edit | edit source]

If the player is using a Neck Slot item with the Collector's Effect, the loot will be placed in the player's inventory or bank. If not, the loot will appear on the ground.
