How to Add Gems to Gear Sockets

This is a step by step guide on how to add gems to gear sockets. This guide was made by Deathkill.

Step 1:

For starters, you will need Salvage Fragments.

Salvage Fragments.png

You can easily obtain Salvage Fragments by salvaging Chunks of Salvage at the salvaging table near the ::upgrade teleport location.

Salvage Table.png

You can salvage a total of 30 chunks of salvage per day, this equates to a total of 3,000 salvage fragments.

Step 2:

Now that you have the Salvage Fragments, you want to go to the NPC named Black Smith right next to the salvaging table.

Choose the option that says "Socket", once you do this interface will appear:

Next, choose the piece of gear from your inventory that you would like to add gems to. Once chosen, the interface should look like this:

Step 3:

To unlock a gem socket on that piece of gear, click on the box with the lock symbol inside of it. You will be asked in the chat box if you are sure you want to proceed with permanently unlocking the slot for that item.

Slot #1 costs 150 Salvage Fragments.
Slot #2 costs 400 Salvage Fragments.
Slot #3 costs 1000 Salvage Fragments. In order to unlock slot #3, you must have an active Elite Membership or be Diamond rank.

Step 4:

This next step is easy. In order to add the gem of your choice to your gear in the interface, simply select the gem in your inventory and select the Yes please. option when prompted in the chat box.

After you have done this, your interface should look like this:

Congratulations! You have added the gem to one of your three gear sockets. This can be done to an item from each of the 14 gear slots, totaling up to 42 gem sockets that you can add gems to.

The Importance of Adding Gems to Gear Sockets

This information is brought to you by Karma. It can also be found in the Useful Tips section in the Redemption Discord.

As it seems there are a lot of people that do not know much about how the Salvage system works, here we will shortly explain why it is very OVERPOWERED.

Salvage is a new skill with a brand new system introduced to Redemption, it comes with it's own rotating shop and the ability to socket all equip-able items!

Now why is this so good?:

Range/Mage/Melee bonus % can be purchased for your customs: 10% (150$), 50% (600$), 100% (1100$) and 250% (2500$).

Range/Mage/Melee bonus % can also be obtained through salvage by socketing your items, There are 14 items you can wear at once, all 14 items have 3 socket spots.

14 x 1st slot = 2100 salvage fragments (21 chunks of salvage)
14 x 2nd slot = 5600 salvage fragments (56 chunks of salvage)
14 x 3rd slot = 14000 salvage fragments (140 chunks of salvage)

This comes to a total of 21600 salvage fragments to unlock all 3 slots on each of the 14 gear slot items.

Each gem tier counts as 1% (tier 5= 5%, tier 13 = 13%)

Let's say you stock up a total of 42 tier 5 gems (5% Range/Mage/Melee bonus each)

If you put a tier 5 gem in each of the 3 slots on all 14 gear slots, this is how much bonus percentage you will receive:
Slot #1: 14 Items x 5% = 70% total
Slots #1 & 2: 14 Items x 10%(5% per slot) = 140% total
Slots #1, 2, & 3: 14 Items x 15%(5% per slot) = 210% total

That is a total of over $2,000 worth of Range/Mage/Melee bonus in Custom Credit Scrolls!

If you are lucky enough to get your hands on all tier 13 gems, it comes to a total of 546% bonus, which would be more than $5,000 worth in Custom Credit Scrolls!
