Avian Ascent Strategy Guide Avian Ascent is a four phase boss fight with each boss requiring different attack styles. Avian Ascent Phases short explanation Phase 1 - Talonheart(Melee) Phase 2 - Ravenwing(Magic) Phase 3 - Quillshot(Ranged) Phase 4 - Gearbeak(Magic/Ranged/Melee/Magic) Instant Kill (66% HP/33% HP) Instant Kill (66% HP/33% HP) Tornadoes (66% HP/33% HP) Health-Gated Attack (75% HP/50% HP/25% HP) Lightning Trap Mechanics short explanation Ability Name Explanation on how it works Additional Ability Instant Kill (66% HP/33% HP) - Talonheart Talonheart will teleport to the middle of the arena and display the following message in the chat box. "Talonheart is preparing to unleash a powerful attack! Welcome to my DOMAIN!". As soon as this is displayed on screen, players will need to take cover behind one of the rock formations in the arena. Failure to do so before the ring underneath the boss reaches 100% will result in an instant death for every player not behind the rocks. During this entire attack Talonheart is invincible. Instant Kill (66% HP/33% HP) - Ravenwing Ravenwing will teleport to the middle of the arena and display the following message in the chat box. "Ravenwing is preparing to unleash a powerful attack! Cower beneath the wings of magic's might!". As soon as this is displayed on screen, players will need to take cover behind one of the rock formations in the arena. Failure to do so before the ring underneath the boss reaches 100% will result in an instant death for every player not behind the rocks. During this entire attack Ravenwing is invincible. Lightning Trap - Ravenwing 1 Player will be selected every few attacks This mechanic targets a player and puts an area of lightning on the ground. Players standing in this zone will take continuous damage unless they exit the area. Tornadoes - Quillshot Quillshot will teleport to the middle of the arena and display the following message in the chat box. "Feel the sting of my precision, as sharp as a talon's strike". As soon as this is displayed on screen, players will need to avoid a rotating column of tornadoes. Failure to avoid the tornadoes will result in rapid damage resulting in death. During this entire attack Quillshot is invincible. The tornadoes start from the boss' center of mass going north and rotates clockwise around the arena. Health-Gated Attack - Gearbeak Gearbeak will teleport to the middle of the arena and start a double attack combo which repeats four times. The first of these attacks is a very wide Melee aoe, players can avoid this by positioning on the very outside squares of the arena. The second attack is a single target attack that does minor damage. During this entire attack Gearbeak is invincible.
